Top 10 TV Themes - #8: DOCTOR WHO

For the next Music Mondays, I'll be sharing my top ten favourite genre TV themes. These are those themes that I don't skip through when I'm re-watching a TV show, because they're so good or catchy. Today, we're at number 8, which is the theme song from:

Doctor Who

Do I like it just because I love the show? Probably. Though it is appropriately spacey, scifi-ish, and timey-wimey, if you will.

  1. I love this theme. Wondering if Sopranos will make it? I always loved that one.

  2. It is trippy. First time I've heard it, as I don't watch the show. (Sorry, just never got into Doctor Who. Don't know why.)

    1. Cough cough... Alex, you really need to revisit the show and rectify this problem.

  3. I love how the music changes with each series/Doctor but the main tune is still the same. I think my rendition (if I was to sing it now) is a bit out of date now.

  4. I love how the themes are continually evolved for each Doctor. In fact I just bought the season six soundtrack. Love it so much. Murray Gold is a genius.

  5. I love how the theme subtly changes each time - my favourite was probably last season's, with the lightning flashes and the big brass backing. Epic stuff. I wonder how the theme will change now that Matt Smith is leaving?

  8. I love this theme! And a few of the other themes that they wrap into the show... like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7VmOZ4Ppj8

It's currently my ringtone and I get goosebumps whenever I hear it. Also, I get so caught up in listening to it that I forget to answer the phone! Lol.
