Pete: "Trust me, a whoosh and a twinkle is a lot better than a sizzle and a splat, or worse zzz-zap and ker-chow."
Pete is a brilliant secret service agent, with training from the marines. He likes to work from instinct, unlike Myka who likes to think things through, which is probably partly why they make such a good team.
Pete is my favourite character from Warehouse 13 because he cracks jokes to ease the tension and is a little boy at heart. His playfulness often drives Myka crazy, but I love it. I enjoy the brother-sister relationship that he has with Myka--watching them develop as a team is one of the best parts of the show.
Shout out to blogger buddy P: If you like paranormal fiction, stop by Suzanne Johnson's Preternatura. She's a wonderful lady and I took her course on plotting for pantsers that was fantastic.

Warehouse 13 Season 4, Episode 3: Personal Effects
SPOILER ALERT: In these episode reviews I will be discussing what happens without being careful about what I say, so don't read on unless you have seen it or don't care about spoilers.
A few interesting developments in this one. Both Leena and, I think, Pete are now suspicious that something is going on with Artie. I wonder how they are going to solve this problem without undoing everything and going back to when the warehouse was destroyed. I look forward to finding out.
Claudia feeling Steve's pain (literally) was a totally unexpected plot development. Is that a side effect because Claudia brought him back? Also very interesting. I'm not sure why Steve is keeping it a secret, either.
And once again, where is H.G.??

Warehouse 13 Season 4, Episode 1: A New Hope
Warehouse 13 is back!! Woohoo!!! I am excited to jump back into this series with all the questions season 3 left us hanging with.
SPOILER ALERT: In these episode reviews I will be discussing what happens without being careful about what I say, so don't read on unless you have seen it or don't care about spoilers.
First of all, might I jump for joy that H.G. Wells is back. She is my favourite character (right up there with Pete) and I've been hoping all summer that somehow Artie's watch would be able to bring her back. Fingers crossed that she will return as a Warehouse agent and be a regular on the series.
This episode took a dark turn, and I think is foreshadowing more darkness to come. Brrrr. I thought the writers and actors did a really good job of making these scenes full of emotion, even though we were pretty sure that Artie was going to turn back time. I mean, Pete's death--I almost cried. And is it setting things up for Claudia to become the villain of this series? That would make me sad, but the idea has potential. She could make a pretty awesome villain.
I think this episode has set the mood for exciting events to unravel. What were your thoughts?

Top 10 TV Countdown - #4: WAREHOUSE 13
"That's a nice speech. It sounds even better with the fancy accent. But it still doesn't cover the fact that you are out of your gourd, McNutty-Pants! You put a bomb in a man's mouth. Not really a great recruiting tool." -- Pete Lattimer
You want great sci-fi that you can watch with the family? Try Warehouse 13. (Though by "family," I don't mean very young kids. This is still an adult show, though I think teens will enjoy it.)
Myka Bering and Pete Lattimer are government agents recruited by Warehouse 13 to track down dangerous artifacts with magical properties. These include Beatrix Potter's tea set, which enhances the imagination of the drinker but also results in delusions; Cinderella's knife, which turns people to glass when they are stabbed with it; Rheticus's compass, which can trap people in space and time; H.G. Wells's time machine, which, incidentally, allows people to travel in time; and many more.
I love episodes that stand by themselves but are also part of a larger plot arc, and Warehouse 13 does a great job of this. Each episode focuses on the hunt of a specific artifact, but along the way we learn more about Warehouse 13 and the pasts of the eclectic set of characters. And there are, of course, some terrible love-to-hate villains that need taking care of along the way.
Myka and Pete are the perfect balance for two main characters, in my opinion. Pete is hilarious and boyish, while Myka is serious and detail-oriented. Along with Artie, the special agent in charge of Warehouse 13 who has an extensive knowledge of artifacts and is persnickity and loveable, as well as Claudia, a young woman who is sarcastic and tech-savvy, they make a highly entertaining cast.
This is another one of those shows that even people who don't like "heavy" sci fi may enjoy. It's done quite well on the SyFy channel and has been renewed for a fourth season.
